It's most likely because he won't think your as good. Just do your best, he's going to play the seniors because he thinks their more experienced. Try and prove you can play as good as them.

yeh i got tha same prob homes

i live in a small town and the league is 2 easy (2nd mvp, equal 3rd twice(no 1st coz i had a crapass team full of uncos all 3 tymes)) so i went to play in a bigger league and even tho im better than 1/2 tha team (not being cocky) i only play 1/2 tha match and itz real frustrating coz my coach thinks im a rookie

so i feel ya dawg

EDIT: damn nice sig krd-baller

u gotta earn your stripes...i remember in like grade 7 i made the ball team, and the first couple games, i was never in for the last 8 mins. but then for the last half of the season, i played more than 3/4 of the game and always finished it unless we were down or up by alot, and thats when i was gr. 7. a rook like u..

but the point is that since i didnt miss a single practice even thru injuries, and i worked my ass off every practice and in games, he gave me playing time and it payed off for every1...but we lost in the semis to the 1st place team by like 1 point in overtime, and i always wish that i worked a lil harder.

if you think ur working HARD, ur not, always push urself past your limits, then create new limits and keep passing them, getting injured once in a while doesnt matter. for example, say ur doing pushups for a workout, and you say " im gunna do 30 pushups then stop", when u get to 30 u better keep going till your hands collapse, because pushing yourself to the "real" limit is what improves your game, and gets u some playing time.

check this out, i got it in a newsletter once;

As they say, "Rome wasn't built in a day". It takes time and hard work to become a leader or even a significant player on a team.
Here are some tips that will help you:

Don't try to show all your skills and abilities the second you step on the court. Make the coach trust you by executing and focusing on what he asks you to do.
Whenever a coach sends a player from the bench to the court, his main concern is: "I hope he won't do significant mistakes". Keep that in mind before taking a make-or-break decision.
Shot selection: a player who plays 30 minutes per game and a player who plays five minutes are not "equal" in the eyes of the coach. They are expected to take different types of shots.
If you try to "show" your coach you can make shots you are not expected to, you might let your coach down. My advice: don’t shoot for the first couple of plays. First, get into the rhythm of the game. Then, take only shots you can make.
Coaches like to play effective players. Becoming more effective does not necessarily mean you should score more; it means you should do your best on defense and help your team score more.
Keep in mind what you can do and what you can't. The number one reason for players to sit on the bench is trying things they can't do.
Set your expectations – be patient! It takes time to gain your coach's trust. You get one minute on the court – be smart and it becomes two, then four and then eight...
