Default Question about Floaters

Plain and simple question. How do you shoot a floater? I see some players simply push the ball with a high arc and have their hands and fingers basically vertical like Skip to My Lou (no wrist flick like a jumpshot has)--http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utkf1DjIxUE

Others, like Tony Parker, seem to like have their hands and fingers going backwards to the top of their arm. For example--http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2iKXOluAws

1) What is the correct hand position for the floater--both before/after the release?

2) Why don't you "stroke" your wrist like you do in a regular jumpshot?

3) You can shoot this off the run--like a runner--or like a regular jumpshot from two feet, right?

Default Re: Question about Floaters

Firstly, i don't think that there is a correct form, maybe just a method that is easier to learn and get accustomed to for the majority. For me i do it on the run, i can't do it from standstill, just seems wierd and i don't get it off right.

Practice them against a player with taller/longer arm span/higher vertical jump than you.

I do it the first way that you mentioned, but what ever that your comfortable with, stick with it and practice. Once you have mastered this move, it's a great addition to your arsenal, it's almost impossible to block if executed correctly.

Let it come natural, that works for me.
