Default dunk attempts/vert mix

YouTube - Jump/Dunk attempt mix

I tried :/, pretty dissapointed with the dunking bit, it seems i always lose handle of the ball just before dunking it, its a bad habbit i have :S, the fact that i also recorded over the highest jump i ever done in my life while watching it on playback really pissed me of, look at 37 and imagine myself being another 2 inches higher then that, also take note of how i dont even use a arm swing on my right and i get higher then my left lol. my left leg vert has improved quite a bit, it looks sexier now to. I had a corked quad when doing this mix so i prolly wasnt tops and the fact that the rim was 10'1 and i was in a rush to do everything in 20 minutes didnt help.

left leg: 34-37 3 inch (improvement)
right leg: 39-41 inch (2 inch improvement)
2 legged: 36-34 inch? (-2 inches)
standing vert: 32-30 inches (-2 inches)

seems that not doing strength work for a while put my 2 legged vert down.

Your pretty close to dunking it. I dont think its a vert problem. More like a technic problem.

Go up with on one foot, one hand. It is easier that way. I have a 37' running vertical and I can dunk it solid. I am 5'9. I have never dunked it once with two hands. It is harder, you have to jump higher. Keep it up.

@ibetan = ur verts are a bit lower in the video than what u posted, good job nontheless

Whatcha mean? which are lower?. the only thing that was wrong numberwise was the 41 inch but thats because i overrecorded that, the closest jump i had to that was 39 inches.

I have a 7'7 reach meaning 29 inches to touch ring and both those rims were at least an inch taller then 10ft, i know the indoor one was for certain, from the tip of my fingertips to the start of my wrist is 8 inches. therefore its 38 inches just to get my wrist over a 10'1 rim. If you look at 37 seconds carefully i have my wrist +1-2 inches over the rim which would mean 39-40 inches. same applies to my left hand, i had my thumb over it which is 7 inches down my hand...

Its just the angle playing on you, those pictures where wat i got at the highest point, it may not of looked that high in motion but thats coz u cant pause it frame by frame.

@phantom, i never saw it that way, ill definately try that next time. i always end up back rimming it for some reason.

@abdcc. Your definitely right about that. im a right legged jumper right? but im also right handed, therefore i am forced to dribble with my left hand which im absolutely shit with so it completely destroys my rythm, and therefore i also have to 2 hand it considering i cant palm a ball with my off hand very well, it just slips out at the top of the jump.

@truper, your prolly left legged right handed. if that was the case for me id definately be dunking to, no problem. nice vert tho

i take u r right handed. . in the video when you take off with your right leg it seems to me that you need more technique thats why i suggest u to master jumping off your left foot.

My reach is 7'7" and from the top of my finger to my wrist it is 7.2 inches and i get like half way up to my elbow over the rim, and my vert is 36 inches...how is that?! LOL

i dont understand how you have a 40 inch vert bro
im 5'11 with shoes on, 5'10 without
and my reach is 7'8
and i can get my wrist just about as high as you get it and i have a 32 inch vert

either you cant jump as high as you can normally when ur trying to grab rim, or your measuring wrong.
since you say the rim is 10'1 and your reach is 1 inch shorter than mine, i would say your jumping about 34-35' not 40
but then again, like i said, maybe your just not jumping to your full potential when you try to dunk

anyways, you said that you cant dribble with your left.
ill tell ya again man, your kinda short, you wont be like 6'2-3 unless you hit a nice growth spurt which is unlikely...
stop trying to jump higher for now and work on your game.
i saw your other vids on shooting and i gotta say your skills arnt that good. when you dribbled, you were offbalance, and your form was off.
practice on your skills if you really want to play ball, cause at your height, vert aint gonna help you too much cause even with a 50' vert, most 6-2 6-3 would still be able to get over you because of their size.

not meaning to hate or anything, cause you got nice hops, but focus on whats important. also, if you dont really care about really playing ball and just wanna dunk, then forget anything i said
