My shooting form, someone helpp! :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNrtTsI8J54
Help!, i need some critique, advice about how to fix my shot, my forms very inconsistent, 1 day i feel i have a good stroke the next i don't etc, i don't know how to fix it, so any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Btw this was me on a good day, my stroke felt fairly good, normally i hit alot less then that and my shots fall short or long, my stoke feels vey unnatural alot of the time, what can i do to fix and better my shot??
Btw i know that i dont really jump on my shots, it feels unnatural and makes me fk up my shot when i try to jump higher, i dont feel as comfortable in a narrow stance either.

well it looked alright except your legs looked too far apart. try to get them shoulder width apart, they looked farther than that. try that for a while and tell me how it feels. one other thing is that your index finger and middle finger should be a little lower than the other ones, because that will give you better rotation and accuracy. otherwise it looked pretty good.

Re: My shooting form, someone helpp! :D
i was actually shooting good today for some reason, other days i miss so much or im either short or long, and i forget to flick my wrist, or i dont shoot up and out etc, These are the things ive been told to fix
.stronger wrist flick,
.dont shoot forwards
.shoot upwards and land in the same place
.shoot a higher arc and finish with follow through higher and close to my head
. dont shoot with my feet so far apart
. dont shoot with my right foot so far in front of my left
. bend my knees before shooting
etc.

Re: My shooting form, someone helpp! :D
Looking good man! Just my two cents - decide for yourself if you agree
Sometimes the angle makes it hard to see what you are doing, but your form looks pretty good in that vid. Yes, your feet do look spread a little more than is normal. There is a risk that in the game you'll shift a bit of your centre of mass over one foot more than the other. You should try to be as balanced as possible when shooting uncontested. Also, it may be harder to get more leg power (smoothly) into your shot for longer range 3s. About foot position, people usually tell you to square up to the basket i.e. not to emphasise the shooting side foot. You risk some body rotation when on the move. Whatever people think about this, you should probably square up more than you do in your clip and not have one foot that much in front of the other.
Get a mate to feed you the ball as you run to set shot points around the basket. Get used to doing a quick plant/knee bend just before you get the ball. You feet should also move closer and end up at a more natural and narrow width. Try that and see if your form gets tighter. If you are on the money, then just practice practice practice.

looks pretty good except for a few things could just be from the angles, your feet are spread a little to far, elbow goes out alot when shooting and from the angle there was something with the end follow throuhg but could jsut be the angle. your kinda of like be wen i shoot but i go a bit off the ground, how far away were you from the basket looked bout foul line because u may dinf difficulty shooting threes.

How old are you? if your younger, work on it. If your in college, just work with what you have.
My suggestions --
You have a tiny fade when you shoot, it would probably be best to shoot going straight up
Make sure your legs are shoulder with apart
Otherwise it looks great

You can shoot ok, but if you dont shoot jumpshots then your shots are rendered useless in a game situation.
It doesnt matter if you feel confortable or not when shooting jumpers, you need to or you will never be a good shooter
