if you think hip hop is still alive then you have no idea what hip hop is

the fact that he put up a video of him self dissing ice-t and talkin all that stupid shit about him tells enough, ice-t put it right

soulja boy is a joke, so is lil wayne and most rappers who are big today

Just check out the line up for this years rock the bells tour.

When i mean real shit, this is what i mean:
YouTube - Canibus - Channel Zero (Original)
YouTube - Eric B. & Rakim - Juice (Know The Ledge)
YouTube - Eric B. & Rakim - Don't Sweat The Technique
YouTube - TELL THE TRUTH - Mos Def - Immortal Technique - Eminem
YouTube - Nas-Nas Is Like
YouTube - 2Pac, Notorious BIG - Runnin' (Dying to Live) (Uncensored)
YouTube - 2Pac - Keep Ya Head Up
YouTube - Mos Def, Talib Kweli & Common - Respiration
YouTube - Talib Kweli "Listen!!!" Video
YouTube - Blackstar (Mos Def & Talib Kweli) - Definition

Thats True/real/ rap. ^^^

W/E you wanna call it, that's the stuff we need back in the public and getting heard by the masses, not only the hardcore hip hop heads who have to find this by chance on the internet.
That's basically old-school hip-hop, Eric B and Rakim. Gotta love that shit.

You heard Jedi Mind Tricks? They're good. I listen to some Necro from time to time too haha.

yeah JMT are ill, and who do you mean by necro??

I believe a lot of this debate is concerned with your point of view of rap, i think that the people saying hip hop is dead mean that cats like souljah boi and stuff have taken it too far, if their gonna be considered rap and represent an entire music genre, at least pay homage to it by keeping it in it's limits.

What i mean by this is, souljah boi's style is not in the limits of rap itself, classic rap which originated from cats like rakim and such. to do what he's doing and label it rap is disrespectful to the music, he shouldn't be calling his shit rap and giving people that idea about it, that just ruin our image.

Necro is Necro. I dunno if he's considered underground but the shit he raps about is pretty gory.

yer i youtubed him. I don't like him, his styles like vinie paz mixed with emo......i'm not feelin it.......and he's flow is off and his execution is pretty poor. I think I'll stick with tech and bis for the raunchy lyrics............
