Default End of an era?

im pretty sure most of you know that phx got semi slaughtered by the san antonio spurs. and after the loss doug collins mentioned something pretty interesting. he sed something like, if the suns lose this series, what does this mean for the suns? i mean they got shaq to get over the hump of san antonio. and they cudnt do it. should they give them more time to glue?or should they rebuild?or maybe even rebuild completely with all young guys. I mean nash is aging, same iwth shaq.their only possible keeper is amare.so what do u guys think? is it the end of the run and gun? or maybe give them one more year?

another thing id like to add is that it seemed that the suns didnt have a sense of intensity, or even urgency. like the last game, amare seemed like he was playing in a regular season game. I know boris diaw may have taken them off their regular offence, but i mean a 20 12 guy shouldnt go down that quiet in a must win game. same with nash as well. your thoughts?

i say give them one more season to gel as a team. after that its all over and theyre going to have to completely rebuild. also theyre going to have to really focus on defence if they want to win a championship. Defense win championships and the suns arent a defensively oriented team. Same deal with the Denver nuggets. If both teams could improve their defence just a little bit they would be great.
celtics will win it all anyway

A major problem with PHX is not only their defense, but also their offense.

Nash was getting harassed by Bowen, so we can't blame him. But Amare was really disappointing. He needs to erupt for more points.

All I can say is the deal was successful for the Suns, their intention was right. Look, for the last 3 years it has been proved that Nash-Marion-Stoudemire trio can't win a champion. And now you only give Shaq-Stoudemire 3 months so you can't say it's not successful. True, Nash, Hill and Shaq are getting older. But they were almost swept by the Spurs mostly because their bench sucks, they got no money to get good players.

thats true..but the biggest factor that i think killed that suns was the hack a shaq. i mean even if shaq made one free throw, the spurs could still settle for a 2 for 1, or even 3 for 1. This, obviously made them play shaq less, which resulted in the spurs scoring surges. But also, ther was one point where when they put shaq on the bench, the suns always seemed to go on a scoring run.so is shaq detrimental to the suns uptempo style of play? do u guys think his faults outweight his benefits?

At first it looks like the Suns will destroy the Spurs inside with Amare and Shaq. But the Spurs use Oberto and Thomas very successfuly to protect Duncan from foul troubles. When both Amare and Shaq are on the floor, the Spurs use the speed of Parker and Ginobili to get points, y'all know Nash can't play d. Then if one of them is on the bench, the Spurs can just use Duncan to score on the post. This is why the Spurs can manage Amare-Shaq effectively. It might not work against the Hornets because Paul is even faster than Parker and they have good role players like Peja, Mo Pete and Bonzi.
