Default Do you participate regularly in track / olympic lifting?

Especially for those of you still in school...

Who here does track/field or olympic lifting as one of their regular sports? How do you train? Do you supplement the training regime given by your coach with that of a commercial product (e.g. VJB)?

I run track and my season begins the coming Monday. While I'm not currently in a program I plan to be in one, probably vjb. My coaches arent really the brightest when it comes to lifting so i can make any modifications their since we lift on our own time after the running. And for the running if your a sprinter and the coach has you doing repeat 400's. then definitely make adjustments or you'll burn out. But this could be hard if your coach watches everything you do on the track.

You run loops of 400m? What events do you train for?

yea i am in track...i competed in 100m and 200m....we didnt strength train only the shot put and discus did
in middle school in practice we ran 4 100m then 2 200m then 2 300m then 2 400m they just make u run alot and stretch be4 and after practice.......we also for warm up ran a 400m extra...we just basically ran our ass off our legs used to pain every practice which was 4 times a week

the smartest thing in track to do is if ur in 100m then u practice 200m and if ur in 200m then u practice 300m but we did this on our own
u do this 2 increase the stamina of ur highest speed and keep it high
