Wow, let's make a proper introduction now that this section is up.

Formerly known as Froot Hoops.

I'm Guillaume, 18 years old from Québec, Canada.

I wasn't interested at all in the sport of Basketball until I turned 17, Before that I used to do martial arts, circus, acrobatics, and other stuff completely unrelated..In each sport that I did, people always told me that I was ''too tall'' and it always pissed the hell out of me. One day my friend came home with a dvd of And1 Streetball Mixtape, and I fell in love with basketball.I had found ''THE'' sport, that could let me appreciate my height and my athletic skills. From that day I started practising almost day and night, mostly my dribbling, and I gave all my heart to the sport. I become really good at it really quick..I went to my local ballpark and had a go with the guys that play there...They were all from the big teams in the town and they were really amazed when I told them that I never played B-Ball before.

The rest of the summer I spent practising my handles, my shots and my moves.

Next year when I started school, I went to the tryouts for the team in my college, and surprisingly I made the team...It started on a slow note, because I didn't know all the mechanics of team play and stuff, but with hard work and dedication I became a very good team player, and I am now a starting shooting guard for my team... Next year I am changing college, to go to the best basketball college in Quebec. I will most likely train to try my shot at THE big league, the AAA division.

Well in Quebec, it doesn't work like in USAs or any other places..

Here you have 5 years of secondary school, than two years of college, and then you are off to university, so I guess you could compare my College to end of High School..But still..It wasn't easy.

Hmm well Usually College takes 2 years, but I dropped because my pre-universitary program was crap. So I will start another program that will give me another 3 year, hopefully enough to make the AAA division.

still, making varsity high school team after only knowing the sport for a year, never playing on a team before, impressive. way to go.

Thanks, well at least I had played other sports before..I played soccer all my youth so I had the ''sports brain'' if I can use that expression. But yeah I take credit since I worked very hard to come all that way.

What is AAA? I don't know the system or whatever...

Ok well here there are 3 divisions in the school basketball. It goes from highschool to college, there is A division, AA division and AAA division. After college you either find an university that will have you on their team (Very hard) Or if you kick ass you might get spotted by some NCAA scouts. For example, there is only 1 Division AAA team where I live, so it's very hard to make the team.
