Default Brian's VJB intermediate plyo journal/intermediate vjb talk

Hey this is brian and i'm on my 2nd week of the vjb intermediate plyo program. my initial stats were: Standing vert:27', Running 2 leg vert: 31.5', Running 1 leg vert: 24.5'. i'm obviously much more of a strength jumper and my depth jumps from boxes weren't nearly as good as from a standing vertical. from this i thought i fit the intermediate plyo profile.

I will be making updates to my vert stats at the end of every phase and explain how each phase went and what i thought were good exercises and stuff like that. feel free to post other vjb intermediate program results as well as ur initial stats as i'd like to see how other people are doing in the intermediate programs.

i did intermediate plyometrics and i gained about three inches in
that one program alone. i was very happy. good luck and dont give up

what programs did you do before the intermediate plyo and what were ur vert stats before and after completing that program? what do you think i could gain if i complete it with 100% intensity and with good strength and plyo seriously lacking?

i've completed 2 weeks of the intermediate plyo program from vjb and only tested my standing vertical. in just 2 weeks i improved 2 inches from 27' to 29'. i can now consistently dunk with a small ball from a standstill on a 10' hoop and am very excited to test everything out before my final workout of the phase and will have updates later that day with my results.

i've completed 5 of the first 6 workouts for phase 1 and i test on thursday. i'm very excited as i feel i've gained 2-3 inches in my jumps for sure. i've completed each ex. at about 98% intensity so hopefully this will show in my gains that i'll be posting in a couple days.
Also, my broad jump was 7'10 on the first day and on my 5th workout i measured it at 8'5. idk exactly what my 20 yd. dash was to begin with but it's now exactly 3 seconds so i'm guessing a 5 second 40... not very good that's y i'm going to improve it further.

ok i finally got everything tested and was surprised that i didnt gain as much as i thought i would. however i was measuring on a 9'6 rim so i dont think i was jumping my 100% max cuz i'm definitly not used to gettin my wrist way above the rim like that but here were my initial results and my results after phase 1 of intermediate plyo in vjb.

Running off 1 leg: 24.5 to 27.5 (3 inch improvement)
Standing: 27 to 28.5 (1.5 inch improvement)
Running off 2 legs: 31.5 to 31.5 (no improvement)

it seems very strange to me that i can improve decently on the first 2 but have no improvement on running off 2 legs. the only thing i can think of is the first phase is more about building explosivness and strength (like the 20 yd. dash and broad jump) and not as much about building elastic strength yet? anyone have any ideas on why i didnt see an improvement there?
