Default My quest to raise my vert 6 inches by Sept. 1

My stats:

Height- 6"0 no shoes
Reach- 7"9.5
1 step vert- 27.5
Max vert 2 feet-29.5
Max box squat- 135X3 reps
Max Hex bar Deadlift-185X5

Goals by June 1
1 step vert- Dont Care, just trying to strengthen
Max step vert- Dont Care, just trying to strengthen
Max box squat-205X5 reps
Max Hexbar deadlift- 225X8

Goals by Sept. 1 (13)
Max Box squat- 205X15 reps
1 Step vert- 32.5
Max step vert- 35.5


I am starting this quest on tuesday. Every week I will update my journal with what i do, starting tuesday obviously.

All squats are box squats that are a little past parrelel.

Nothing. You can read about his workouts here. This is a thread where he can write about his workouts and say how much he has gained in his program.

ya im not doing a "real" program by any means. The first 2-3 months is mostly about building strength. Thats what i'll update unless i gain inches. I will not be dissapointed if i do not get any inches by June 1. I will be dissapointed if i dont get any inches by Sept. 1 though

Ok so i was playing ball a little today just shooting around at the gym and decided just to do 2 sets of squats to see where im at. This is my official workout #1

WORKOUT #1

Squat- 185- 8 reps
Squat- 205- 8 reps

Next workout is on tuesday

These squats were on a smith machine so the numbers are tainted. A smith Machine simulates a squat but is much easier
