Phase 1
Week 1
Day 1

Novice Plyos
I did Novice Plyos which were a little harder than I thought. But I feel good. I was a little tired after them but thats good.

Novice Weights
Squat: 115 lbs
Leg Curls: 90 lbs
Calf Raises: 115lbs
Today I tried to squat 140 lbs and that felt medium-hard. It is safe to say that my max squat is 150 lbs. Leg Curls and Calf Raises felt good.

I tried to see if I could dunk from an alley. It was kinda hard to get off the ground. However me and my friends ended up playing 21. My legs feel a little sore. I am planning on raising the weight next week. Next Workout is on Friday.

Rest Day
Oops I meant 115 lbs for squat not 105 lbs.
Today my leg muscles feel tired. So that means that I got a good workout. I can see the little definitions in my quadricipes and hamstring area. My calfs feel tired too. The only thing that I dont like is the pain that the barbell leaves on your upper shoulders/neck. I might have to wrap a towel over the barbell next time I squat. I hope the fact that I feel sore today means that I will see good gains when Im done, because sore muscles=higher vertical when healed.

Well I did the plyos first which took me about 30-40minutes.
Than I went to the gym.
The Novice Weights took me about 30-45 minutes.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Rest Day
My second workout of phase 1 week 1 is tomorrow.
I feel much more healed than yesterday. I tried to jump a little today and it feels as if my legs are stronger. My calfs are just a little sore. I have not done any physical activity since my last workout, because my legs need rest. My hamstrings, quadriceps and especially calfs look like they have more definition. Tomorrow I will do Novice Plyos and Deadlift, Barbell Lunge and do 1 Legged Calf Raises. Ill update you guys tomorrow. I might try to test my jumping after every week of training or after every phase.

Today is Friday, November 23, 2007

Phase 1
Week 1
Day 2

Today was my second workout. The plyos felt a little bit easier than the first time. They took me about 35 minutes. After plyos I was jumping higher than usual. It was more easier to jump.

The weights were a bit harder than plyos. The deadlifts felt a little weird. The lunges well I started with 100 lbs than after 1 set I had to change to 80 lbs to complete them. Calf raises as always burned those calf muscles.

Deadlifts 115 lbs
Barbell Lunges 80 lbs
1 Legged Calf Raises 10 lbs

Overall it was a good workout. Plyos felt good. After I hit the weights I hooped a little at the gym.

This may sound like a dumb question, but can someone answer this: Right after you lift weights why is harder to jump?
