Re: Malone32's VJB
Well we have 4 games in 5 days, a game tuesday, practice wed, a game yesterday, and a game today. We also have another game tomorrow. I'm supposed to measure my vert this week, but with all the activity I was never loose enough when not playing the game to do it. I DID however jump after a time out and get my ENTIRE hand over the rim. I don't know about standing, but as far as running vert is concerned thats a 4-5 inch increase in just under 4 weeks of training. AMAZING results imo.

I leg curled 50 then 62.5 with each leg, squated 205, 215, 225, then 235 (going up each week), and deadlifted the same as I squated. I'm a little shy of 160, so I guess thats about 2x my bodyweight. I'm also mid season, so it sucks to think I could be having even better gains. Oh and I also started TVP's ab workout (starting two weeks ago) I doubt that did anything for my vert though. Dumbell lunges were 30 or 35 pounds per arm, really focusing on exploding back. For the one legged squats I generally just halved my normal squating weight so I did 1x my bodyweight.

I just realized I said 240 pounds was 2x my bodyweight. I meant to say my max is 2x my bodyweight.
For one legged squats I do zero weight (I use it to work on ballance and warmup for dumbell splits), then for the dumbell split squats I do 120ish (it went up by 5 pounds each week).
I have my friend coming in to show me 100% proper deadlift form, so I guess I might take off some weight to get better form. The one thing about deadlifts I don't understand is how to get most of the burn in the legs, because when I do it the way I'm told I feel more of the intensity in my lower back (I use a belt for support and make sure to keep good posture).

Re: Malone32's VJB
buddy, deadlifts are suppose to target your lower back more than your legs.

Ah... that vould explain this phenomenon. Thank ya very much, I guess I'm using about the right weights then. Hm should I be exploding like I do with my squats into the upright position?

Re: Malone32's VJB
Aight so I can get my whole hand over the rim once I get warm any day (even when I'm sore). I still can't dunk, but I can throw down a football real nice (haven't tried a volleyball warm). So today in the game I go in as a 4 (I played middle of the zone though), and came in with like 3 minutes left in the first half. Then I came in about 4 min. into the second half and played the rest of the game. In short I got crazy contested rebounds, shot only 2/2, but I also had 5 monster blocks. I get up soooo much faster now, after the first three I actually started striking the depth jump pose when I landed (I PUNCHED it, I mean straight into the wall for most of them). Its only been like 4 and a half weeks, all in season, and the results are crazy so far. Just an update for all you folks, I'll remeasure when VJB says to in week 8 and let you folks know.
