Default Soul's Journal VJB Novice Bodyweight's and plyos

Well Hello People.

I just started today Novice Bodyweights and Plyo Programs.

(in fact i just did the bodyweight, haven't done yet the plyo).

I had a decent vertical leap until 2 years ago i injured my ankle , with a 2dn and a half degree sprain, and i kinda lose it.

I've been recuperating it mainly by just playing basketball, but now i wan't to get serious. I want to dunk so baddd that i'll do whatever it's necessary to achieve my goal

That's why i haven't really measured my vertical and all that stuff, because all that matters to me is to be able to dunk. Until that happens i won't be happy

This is a picture a friend of mine took while i was playing (that was after my injury, so i had a better vertical leap before). I don't think it's amazing, but at least that isn't a bad vertical leap. (and no, i wasn't poking the guy's in red eyes :P )

This is the court i usually play in. I can touch the rim and sometimes grab it. I'm not sure about it's height but it seems regulation to me.

ahh I'm 5'10 by the way (1.78 m)

Those pictures are like 3 years ago. Now i'm in my 20's (won't say my exact age so i don't appear too old :P)

So far the exercises are all right. I thought the Squats x 100 would be a pain , but actually they were the easiest (and i've done them correctly since i watched a video in youtube about how to perform it)

The standing hip abduction was way painful for me. Same with the ski squat (but at least it was shorter)

I'll keep you updated.

So far my only concern are the schedules, since now i have a vacation for one week. but then classes again and won't be that easy to coordinate all that. I'll see how it goes

Well thanks mate!

My legs are sooooreee after yesterday's training. I didn't saw the training as something particularly difficult (maybe because of my experience with Air Alert II before, that was a real pain). But it amazed me to feel how sore my legs were after the training. So i'm happy because that means the training has to work. Soreness is good :P

I'll keep it updated. And Good luck with your training too !

Damn.

The week has arrived hehe

I just finished Week 1.

Was fine. Only problem is the amount of time. But i'll work it out

Don't know if you do the same thing, but whilst i listen to some music i train, and i imagine myself dunking.

That's a good mental training in my opinion

Well i'll keep it updated

i use music for my other workouts n stuff but never for a bodyweight. I think its good to always hav the same inspiring song fore each workout as it gets u in the mood for training i guess, n keeps ya goin! Laters

Well the 2nd week is now in the past.

I'm looking forward to the next weeks. The training is sometimes a bit hard, but i keep picturing myself dunking and doing amazing stuff , and that really helps.

Nothing particular to mention, i'm not sure if i'm doing the power skipping in a proper way (i think that if someone sees me they would think i'm crazy probably believing i'm a kangaroo). The split squat is kinda hard to do, and i'm think that will be a real pain because now the reps will go from 15 to 20. But nothing i can't handle

That's all for now

Peace out

hahaha well know i think i'm doing them properly. sadly there aren't videos of it in the internet

Well 3rd week first session done.

I have to said it has been the hardest of all. After the strenght training my legs were shaking after the 3 x 100 squats. They feel so sore, i was really tired when i did the plyos later in the day, but the reps were less than other weeks, and the sets too, so it was easier.

Saturday would be the next session and i will be done with Phase I
