Week 1 Day 2

Whoa what a Saturday! Today, my legs were 90% recovered from my first VJB session on Monday. Can't wait any longer and I did my Day 2!!

Both Plyos and Bodyweight seemed easier compared to the previous session. Perhaps my legs have adapted, or maybe because I took a longer rest between the Plyo and Bodyweight Workout. On Monday I only gave myself 3 hours of rest but today, 10 hours of rest. Another reason could be I corrected some techniques I didn't do properly previously.

However, the Bodyweight Workout killed me again (even though it seems easier now). Somehow, it's my weakness...

But, my legs felt much better after today's session compared to Monday. At least I can still jog now I can't really feel the gains yet but I'll definitely feel the pain tomorrow. Lol. Can't wait for Week 2! It'll be more "enjoyable"!!

try not to jog while jump training. it decreases ur vert. try doin sprints. they build stamina and make u quicker. just a tip tho. keep up da good work!

You're right that training your vert is tough, but if you are new to jump training, getting 8 to 12 (unlikely to get 12, but possible) is not so undoable.

yo new member here, i think that you should also train your upper body while training lower body so your overall strength would be balanced

This is one day after my 2nd workout. To my surprise, my legs merely feel heavy, a bit of soreness here and there. This is nothing compared to the first workout where my legs totally broke down! I feel happy but yet skeptical about the results, because as the saing goes NO PAIN NO GAIN right? So more pain more gain? Lol

I agree that the overall strength should be balanced. So which part of my upper body strength should I train? Antagonist or protagonist?

1) sure, no pain, no gain. too much pain, no gain, legs get injured, knees weaken..but anywayyyyy yeah. you get me. just dont over do it =]

2) overall strength should be balanced, agreed.

which part of your upper body strength to train? all of it. just make sure you dont give too much of one side as opposed to the other (Eg dont go building so much bicep and little triceps, you've gotta get it all balanced). or even too much abs, and too little back muscles.

but you get me. just do overall body =]

Totally agreed, try adding more size to your chest may help to push ppl... hehe.ya but try not to bulk up too much cos you would get heavier and carrying the extra weight would not be that good for your jump

Vertical Test 1

It's Monday, one week since I started VJB. My hamstring and inner thigh muscles are kind of sore from the workout on Sat, but I still tested my vertical.

To my dismay, both my running and standing vertical seems to remain the same. There's a rim which is about 9'6" near my house. All along since last year, I could touch it with my first finger joint. Today, it remains the same. Most of my tries I only managed to touch the rim with my first joint. There were a few tries where I touched the rim with my second joint. But those were the minority and in the past, sometimes I could do that too...

This means......NO IMPROVEMENT! Damn. I don't get it. I feel stronger, that's why I went down to test my vertical, thinking I can grab the 9'6" rim. But, everything's the same... Perhaps it's due to my muscles which are not fully recovered. But I really hope to grab this rim ASAP first before moving on to the 10 feet one!
