with squats your workin on balance, your back and your legs which is why it takes more energy to lift and why u don't lift as much as u would with a leg press which works on just legs. i'd go with leg press

Answer me this. Do you play ball on your feet or sitting in a machine? Squats are much better for athletes. Leg press should only be substituted if some kind of injury does not allow squatting.
Leg press numbers are always higher than squat numbers for a number of reasons. You don't have to lift your body weight. You don't have to worry about stability. The weight isn't on your back. Most of all, sliding weight up an incline is far easier than lifting it straight up.

Just pick up where you left off in the VJB program. Extra rest never hurt anybody.
