coolek, start with bodyweight training. Strength is the first step. If it's easy for you, make every rep explosive.
Nooballer, doing VJB for high jump and long jump is just fine. The increase in power will transfer to those two events. Those events involve highly skilled motions though, so you'll have to keep doing the technique drills for those if you want to get better. You may have to cut down the VJB workouts a little bit to compensate for the high jump and long jump drills.
