Looks like I'll continue my review of various basketball DVDs that I have seen. This one is from Hoopsking. It is called Jason Otter's From the Streets to the Courts.
Highs: The DVD is very well produced. Otter does very well at explaining the various streetball moves and why you need to "eliminate the excess movement" with your dribbles. He also goes a long way in explaining how to practice the moves. You get like 40 moves to attack from the dribble. He tells you how to explode and such. Also, he sometimes notes when to use the moves--when they prove most useful in game situations.
Lows: As good as Otter is at dribbling, his breathing is annoying. It sounds like well like a powelifter in the weightroom trying to psyche himself out for a max squat. However, he keeps the same breathing pattern as he runs--it is really ridiculous. Also, the DVD is more about well how to do the moves. It doesn't cover how to use most of them in game situations very well.
Overall, if you need some help with your handles. I suggest getting this DVD or borrowing from somone

. It's not a video with a stuff like figure eights and all that stuff. It's using the moves in game situations and how to workout using them. Like I said, using the moves againts a defender and such. He goes over crosses, spins, wraps, etc.
With all that in mind, for me, personally, I didn't really need the DVD. I mean think about it. In a game, if you know like 3 or 4 attack dribble moves (killer crosses, between the legs, etc), you have more than enough moves to beat your man off the dribble. You really don't need like 40 different moves, more like a 3 or 4 go to ones. AI has like 2 go to dribble moves out side of his triple threat attacks. So, I mean, the DVD is cool and all, but you really don't need it that badly. Anyway, PM if you need anything.
