hear me!you can work out as much as u need.. but only 4 strength training. dont bench press 200 pounds just because u can.. do a light weight, to get you strong and more defined. and make sure u stretch really good, cause if u dont, u will get tight and when u shoot, u will lose ya whole form. and dont shoot around after u just work out, u will shoot short... after u work out, stretch ( Before work out, and after) so ya muscles grow long and strong... not short and bulky.

i do weight traing, and my max bench is 200... but when i just train on a regular... i would bench around 135 and do 20 reps,... instead of bench 200 and 5 reps, .....( Bar and 1 45 on each side = 135)

but remember.. the more muscle u gain, is the heaver u are... so make sure u always work ya heart... run, jump rope, or whatever the fuck ever.

do u think getting stronger, being a guard who is already pretty strong , will help my game, e.g. loose balls, defense,? or should i be working out purely for the looks (and the football season )
I feel weight training is real important to your game but i feel like a hypocrite because i dont work out as much as i should.

It depends what kind of game you play. If ur an inside man then you need to weight train so u wont get bullied around. If your pg/sg then its ot real smart.

I play PG/SG, but I wanna play inside more too, so I've got no choice.

weights help your range though you need to shoot consistently to not lose that force behind your shot.

do they? man i did this workout program while i sprained my ankle recently, and now im playing again, but even tho i should have gotten stronger (the program was like 3 weeks), i cant shoot with ease like i could b4.

maybe its cuz i havent played for a long time, but its wierd. my 3 pointer, i actually have to push a lil whereas b4 it was easy and relaxed. so i dont htink working out makes u shoot farther, because shooting range involves two things: form and fast-twitch muscles in ur wrist. so to shoot farther and easier, just shoot more.

maybe you did the wrong thing. it's naturally easier for buff guys to shoot or atleast to throw the ball up in the air than thin guys. Even if you just practice you still need weight training that's why baseball players still do weights but if you feel it doesn't then don't. It could also have something to do with your timing with your jump.
