Default Stretching b4 basketball session

I've seen on Nike Training that Kobe Bryant himself said that stretching is important to prevent injury.

I was wondering what and how to stretch for every basketball session.

I've also seen in VJB Kelly Baggett stated 2 types of stretching, dynamic and static. Dynamic stretching is the closest match I've found in VJB on what I need to do b4 basketball. It is said there to do the dynamic stretching b4 plyo workout.

So shall I do his dynamic stretching b4 every basketball session or no.

That's alot of stuff to do b4 basketball. For VJB plyos is ok but for basketball it seems alot to do. It is troublesome for NBA players to do that b4 every basketball session. Do they do similiar stuff like that for every basketball session or not?

If u know how to do them pls enlighten me on how to do this.

Ya stretching is very important to prevent injury and to improve flexibility which can also improve your vertical jump.

You should do either Dynamic stretching or Active Isolated Stretching(A.I.S).
A.I.S is like static stretching but you hold each stretch for 2 seconds and do 5-8 reps for each stretch.

I currently A.I.S. stretching and have benefited from in in my vertical jump! The choice is your to do either do Dynamic stretching or A.I.S.

Stretching is so important.
You will notice gains in your vertical and speed just by stretching before a match. PNF stretching is very good for this but involves more risk given you aren't in full control.

The pros won't find it a hassle to do. It will be second nature to them. I do it before all my games and training sessions, even if i'm just going to shoot a few shots with no real intensity. Do it before and after you will feel much better for it.

The vertical jump bible was just sayin that you shouldn't do static stretching before a workout because it can hinder strength, but static stretching before playing basketball is fine. If you watch a nba game on tv you will see all of them static stretching before the game.

Hmm don't know about that but I also notice it when I watch games they kind of do static stretching on the floor before shooting.

I've tried dynamic stretching described by VJB and after 1 day of doing it I've felt more loose, larger range of motion. Also feel smoother when moving in basketball. Movements fluid.

i do PNF and static before my matches. then a shoot around for a bit really, which is effectively dynamic without hyperflexion and extension.

PNF is really good just search it on google. you'll find some great stretches to do.
