Default I have tendonitis-need advice

Okay, first off let me say that I'm kind of pissed b/c after about three months of solid gains, I have got patellar tendonitis. The doctor says it's from over-use, but I haven't done anything extra and have gotten plenty of rest on off-days of VJB and I only play ball once (competitive) a week and shoot around every morning. Nothing serious, but just to maintain form.

But anyways, it is patellar tendonitis of the lower knee (connecting to the shin)...I think it's from a muscle imbalance b/c when I think about it, my thighs aren't worked as much as my hamstrings, glutes...but that's just me

So should I just rest for a month and see what happens and lose all my gains and explosiveness? Or should I do light rehab weight-lifting to correct the imbalance? jumping is out b/c of the pain which means no plyos...but I can still lift weights without pain...6'3" 185 lbs. rvj-32" svj-29" 2-legged jumper

need help!!! TY in advance

well dont lift, without plyos it will decrease your vert. if u just rest for a month u might actually see some gains.

You gotta rest it. i've had tendonitis before and the pain won't stop until you do.

It will be from overuse. Your doctor will be right. Im assuming you are a teenager still and therefore VJB will be too intense even if you don't feel it it is. These jump programmes are intended for adults with fully developed muscle systems and you need to give them respect. If you go about doing it again make it easier you will still see gains and you are less liekly to get an injury

OMG, I felt the same pain these days after two vjb workouts last week, it's a mild pain, but it gets to me every time I walk. I think I will rest too. I had no prior knee injuries, maybe it's just overuse or imbalance. Man, I really hope it's not serious.

Probably not for you b/c you caught yours early. I played through the mild pain and now I'm stuck resting. Which is really killing me b/c I'm dying to get back in the gym. lol
