Default would this work?

hi
im wondering if it would work if i switched feet (dont know exactly how to say it) when jumping
when i mean is im a left footed jumper
been like that since i can remember, and im 18 now
but last year, i got itbs, and i went to the doctor, and have been letting it rest for some time now, but its just not getting better

because its not getting better, and i cant jump anymore with it
im windering if i can switch and start jumping of my right foot.
now of course i know i can, but right now when i try to jump off my right, its like i cant jump at all, maybe like 10 inches at most.
so what im asking is can i at some point be able to jump just as high as i did with my left ? and how long would it take?

i used to have a 36 inch vert, dont know now anymore after a year of not jumping

yes you can work on improving your left foot jumping form. also try doing single leg plyos and exercises. yes with enough practice you could become just as good at jumping.

try one legged squats and deadlifts and one legged plyos like redsoxfan said that will help your other leg a lot.

i dont see why not. Im a right leg jumper, but thats becaus ei always practised of my right and ive been dominant right all my life, ALthough if you want to change just keepm doing weights, unilateral excercises are the best and practise jumping of your right, coz without any training my left is only 3-4 inches lower then my right.
