i think the best thing any1 can do for vert is
1. if ur really weak have 2 hard lifting days and 1 intense agility/b-ball day or
2. if ur really strong have 2 agility/b-ball days and 1 hard lifting day
i've been doing a variation of this on and off for about a year now and it's been working great as i've gained about 5 inches. once school starts i'll really focus hard on this type of routine and maybe throw in a couple weeks where i only have 1 workout to recover and maybe some plyo. i'll keep u all posted.

so anyody know a good home gym that i can buy that has the main things needed for say vjb and tvp thats around say $800?

Wait so basically all i need to do vjb is a power rack and a bench press? What do te reverse hyper extension and glute ham raise as mentioned in the original post do?

well, my jump defenetily increased from playing basketball (i also grew) and i think i gained 1 or 2 inches from weights and a few weeks of plyometrics from VJB. But since coming to Hong Kong for a holiday my jump has decreased maybe its the cold weather, change in diet or less exercise. Hopefully i will regain it

hey, i am starting air alert 3 on monday nd ive been reading up on it alot.

i know there can be some serious knee injuries but there can also be great gains. i will be training on grass while wearing my bball shoes and instead of the hundreds and hundreds of burnouts i plan to do half the ammount of jumpin rope.

id prefer to be doing weight training to improve my vert but i dont have access to a gym or anything. i think air alert is just the easiest program to access and use.

ill be stretching before each session for roughly 5 minutes and doing a 20minute (roughly) warm up. and then stretching and rubbing of the knees, shins and theighs once i have finished.

ill be updatin my progress as i go along

u can call me an idiot for tryin this but i am confident that i will gain inches and prevent injuries.

I did some tests nd stuff today. i stand 5'10" with a 7'6" reach nd i have a 22" standing vert. i have been doing athletics for 8 years and basketball for 5 years nd i am in good shape. i am 15 years old

My vertical in a large part is due to my dad having a 36" vj when he was younger. When i was about 10 or 11 my goal was always to touch the ceiling in our house, i was always jumping everywhere. When i reached about 7 or 8th grade i was constantly trying to touch the rim. I achieved grabbing the rim early in 9th grade. I had a 28 inch vj then i did aa3 for 13 weeks and got about 4 inches. I am currently working on the vjb, i can't quite dunk but my goal is a 40" vertical by January.

if ur a beginner n you may see some gains. but my advice to u is "dont rush getting into a jumping program" youtube drop jumps and shock jumps and also look up some good bodyweight excercises ( one legged squats tire u out almost as much as a weighted squat) if you do it right an effective jumping program isnt really hard to create.

squats are THE exercise dont forget that. u really could get by with spending $300-$400 and have enough. all u really need is a squat rack, a barbell with some weights, and a bench with leg curl atachments

Ok i just started week 2 of Air Alert 3 and my vert has gone from 17" to 18 1/2" nd i feel great. the workouts arent too difficult nd i can feel the burn. ive been stretching nd warming up nd doing them exercises on a soft clay and soil surface (dont ask) its a soft but firm ground.

my knees havnt hurt one single bit. my legs are completely fine nd it does already feel simpler to jump. i am lookin foreward to the weeks to come nd i will keep on postin my progress.

goodluck to everyone workin on their vert

Matt
