Default question about squatting

im 6 feet and ive been doing vjb intermediate plyos programs for 3 weeks and ive gotten some good gains but i also have squatted before i dont have a regular squat rack in my gym so is using a smith machine ok?? i wanna record my squat but i dont know if its the same as lifting a regular squat

Single leg squat is a good alternative:

the pistol squat ( 1 leg ) is good and I would suggest trap bar deadlifts if your gym has a trap bar. It works the same muscles as squatting and is a similar movement
