Thats hard to believe. Either your friend was fat and lost weight and added to his vertical. Or he started out with a fairly low vertical.

Or you have no idea what skipping rope can actually do for you.

I have asked people at the gym what skipping rope has done for them. I have seen this one guy jump rope everyday. I asked him if it can increase your vertical jump. He said "It will, but not greatly". He told me when he was in college he was never fast but he was very quick. He also said that jump roping will make you quicker and give you more stamina. Jump roping is a very low intensity excercise.

Im not saying that you wont get any gains. Because the truth is that you will gain a little. But it also depends on your jumping ability right now and your personal fitness level. If you want to increase your vertical than I suggest that you use Vertical Jump Bible, because it has a program for almost anyone.

The bottom line is that doing VJB for 3 month will give you 3x the results compared to jump roping everyday for 3 month.

That's true, if your looking to make a serious improve in your vertical then skipping rope isn't for you but if you want it to help you with everything like quickness stamina and hops then you should do it, some people gain more then others from skipping rope it does really depend on your fitness level right now.
