Question Ankle Weights?

how come yall dont use ankle weights?ppl say it helps u on ur vert faster than anything else...is this true?

dont use ankle weights, the truth is you might get 1 inchy extra from using them, but once you stop using them you will lose your inch you got from them, and lets say you use ankle weights while doing the vertical jump bible, it would have the same effect as air alert.

ankle weights place unneccesary stress on the ankle ligaments, and the achillis tendon. if you want to use something use the weighted thing you put on your waist, sold on jumpusa.com. dont respond to this question with wrong answers.

Actually,they do help for your vertical(and running speed etc.) I know a bunch of guys here in Belgrade that increased their vert by 20 inches just by using 4kg weights(2kg each) !

they must have used them with a program for increasing vertical, so if you gain 16 inches with vjb, he got 20 instead.

I use ankle weights for doing things like pullups, chinups, dips and some ab work. But I don't do any kind of running, plyometrics or jump training type stuff with them. The reason? Just try it for a couple minutes. I start to feel the strain in my knees very quickly.

When used like that they are not very good for you!

i already told them that, because it puts too much stress on the ankles and achillis, but people dont seem to care.

somebody told me to use ankle weights and just jump around and now my knees hurt real bad

No dude,they were just playin' ball with 'em and practicing their leg strenght by jumping about 400 times without stoping and trying 2 touch the rim If you do that for a year(i know it's long,but make it a habbit ) you'll be doing tomahawks and windmills like VC with springs !
