Re: 40 inches
Hate to break it to you man, but it's probably not going to happen. I know when I was 14 I was thinking just the same, that I'll do this program, then this one, and bam I'll have a 40 inch vert easy. A legit 40 inch vert is insanely rare, and to get there before 18 is gonna be mostly genetic. Not to say you can't get there, but it will take time. My advice would be just learn the science behind vert improvement and understand that huge gains take time. Also, make sure you are accurately measuring your vert. Most people cheat when they use the reach, make a mark, then jump and make a mark method. It's better to be honest with yourself and take a couple steps back than to fool yourself. Main thing, don't get discouraged if your gains don't come as fast as you think they will.

Kadour Ziani got all of his hops from stretching 2-3 hours a day and thats why hes such a good 1 footed jumper you will also never see him jump off of 2 feet(maybe once in a while)

Re: 40 inches
Ziani is just genetically gifted. Stretching is not gonna really help you that much. Unless you're not flexible enough to bend your knees to jump.

Re: 40 inches
honestly over your lifetime flexability would realistically just get you 3 to 4 inches, and if you become to flexible you might lose vertical leap. also strech after the workout not before, do a dynamic warmup, or a mobility warmup same thing.

basically you don't want opposing muscle groups out of alignment...ex: a lot of people lean their neck forward a lot looking at the computer, etc so their neck will begin to naturally do this all the time. in this case, the muscles on the back of the neck are too tight, and the front muscles are too loose/weak. if a muscle is too tight stretch it, if a muscle is too loose strengthen it; so for sports, just make sure you're flexible enough in all you lower body muscles to reach all the positions you need to. just do some light stretching now and then and you'll be fine.

yo, ive been lookin up this stuff since i was 12. i know the science behind it. i think i have every single jump program ever made. i understand it takes time. its just a goal, its something that im aiming for. im not saying that i will get 40 inches in 2 years. just dont think im aiming for something i dont knowjow to get bcoz believe me i do. redsozfab15 would have 2 be the nmost experienced person on this site and hes said its possible so just listen 2 him. also i use the vert testers on the wall in the stadium at my school and im measuring it accurately
