weightlifting and stunt you growth
i know there was a topic on this once, i have been getting asked about weightlifting and if its stunts growth. weightlifting does not stunt growth so as long as you stretch after you lift weights, stunt growth is a myth.
also people who sprint out there or jump , do not do static stretching before running , jumping, weightlifting, static stretching decreases power out put which in return will make you run slower, jump lower, lift less.
so you should either do mobility drills, or warmup for the exercise by doing that exercise.
so for squating you will warm up by squating, running by running, and jumping by light jumping.
also for sprinters , running a lap on the field is not going to warm you up flor sprinting. you get where im going.

Lol nicely said. i think this trhead should be called Myths defined. cuz you are addressing the misconceptions.
At my track team, we always warmed up by running laps and we did heavy static before sprints. i knew it was bad so i never did it and my coach got really pissed and threatened to kick me off.
but i was too good and tehy couldt afford it

So how the hell am I suppose to stretch something that is sore? If my hammies are sore, I dont thin kdoing more deadlifts is gonna help...

Static stretching is good for a cool down. i havent read much about stretching so i am not sure why this is so..

whats sort of stretching should you do? for like weightlifting, if ur doing squats, do u just stretch out ur legs, and for how long? i know, that u build the weight up after a couple of reps on the squats, but r u talkin about like sitting down and stretching out ur legs, before and after, or only before, or only after

Before you squat, do some HEAVY STATIC STRETCH OF TEH HIP FLEXORS, your hip flexors are antagonist muscles when you jump and by stretchin the shit out of them they become weaker thus making your p-chain stronger.
you will find that doing heavy static stretch of hip flexors may temp increase your strength when squatting. at least for me it does
