Nah..Jumping Rope is an excellent exercice but it's not meant really to pump your vertical jump..I would say, try doing plyometrics..A real program..Or lift weights...And when you are really close just practise dunking..You'll enventually get there..
I worked in a summer camp the past summer and just by trying to dunk every morning I got a few inches..
