Default How Do You Measure Up?

BFS has some very useful stats for rating your strength, but here's one for speed and power performances.

Mens

Womens

The vertical jump numbers are referring to your standing vert. No run-up allowed!

Shouldn't be to hard for most people to get up to all american 12th grade vert. Likewise it's even easier for ppl to reach the avg. nba vertical leap. If you don't know how to measure vertical leap check out the vertcoach site

If any bball players are serious about basketball they should read the vertical jump bible many times and find out what you need either weight training or plyometric training!!!!! and of course since i can tell that none of us are playing on the nba we all need weight training. I used to be able to dunk about 3 years ago and all i did was plyometrics like jumpsoles and airalert but i was skinny no body or muscle and i was very weak i weighed around 155lbs and i suffered many rolled ankles and near injuries so i stopped doing them right now i began weight training and i currently squat 1.5 times my body weight i am 5' 11'' and weigh 180lbs and i can hang from the rim i am trying to either get down to 170 or 175 depending how i feel about my quickness and strength, well anyways my ultimate goal is to squat 4 times my body weight but that will take me many months if not a year and a half but its doable. I recommend all of you to start squatting and doing deadlifts ur first goal should be to squat and deadlift 1.5 times ur body weight and then 2 times and so on. I will start doing plyometrics after i squat and deadlift 4 times my body weight.

bro.. i read the VJB as well as was all hyped and crazy about squatting.
yesterday i went to the gym and started squatting (not my first time though, but haven't done it for quite a while).

i did
1 x 12 @ 200lbs
1 x 12 @ 290lbs
1 x 15 @ 350lbs
1 x 4 @ 600lbs

not so bad for a 5"5 weighing 126lbs asian huh?

The last time i tested my vert was in the 8th grade (two years ago) and I got 23" back then weighing around 115. I wonder what my vert is now ... I weigh 123
