20lbs+ of lean muscle and 5-6 inches of vertical at the same time as AAU? I am only trying to give you real odds of it happening. Not saying it is impossible but it is highly likely that you will fail. Even very experienced people will find that a very very difficult goal. Yes, I am old. 32. No I am not trying to get my vertical up, just getting into shape. That said, my standing vertical before breaking my foot is close to mid 30s though. I know something about training. I used to outjump most of the high school basketball players. I did tour Canada/US for some sports as well as Spain - wasn't called AAU in my time.
I am not dissing your skills or your potential: just telling you to be realistic in setting some goals or else you will not achieve much of anything and be disillusioned. Your call dude. If you think about it, I am trying to help you. If you just want blind support, go to your mum and dad for positive affirmation.
If you are smart and serious about training, you will try to make small gains in strength and lean body mass. If you go for too much, you risk serious injury while playing your game. Break your foot or leg with major ligament damage and kiss goodbye to 6 months of sport. As I said, hit hard in the off season. 3-4 months strength training will give you good results, maybe not as much as what you are expecting but I think you will be pleased.
