Default VJB and Nike Free 7.0 Training Shoe?

Im currently doing VJb's Beginners plyometric workout and I wanted to know what you guys think about wearing the Nike Free 7.0 Training shoes while doing the plyometric workouts? Will it help strengthened the feet and ankles?

Barefoot or Vibram 5 fingers are both great.

I use nike 5.0 (but use the 4.5 in-sole). They are fine for plyos and lifting. Go for less cushioning if you want to strengthen your feet. You want a little bit of flex so that you can land on and spring off your forefoot.

Young Athlete - people here are generally not training to be powerlifters. As much as I respect the stuff from stronglifts etc. to say that Chuck Taylors are better than Nike frees (for plyos in this context) is absurd. Everyone else, CTs are recommended for their flat and hard soles - very useful for deadlifting and powerlifting style squats. However, they become less useful if you need mobility etc: the high top versions should not be laced up for olympic style lifts.
