Re: intimidation
This makes no sense.
Basically you say you rule when you play strangers but in practice against your own team mates you suck. Sorry, that means that you aren't as good as you think. Maybe your team is stronger than others and your performance in competitive games is a reflection of how well your teams moves, screens, shoots and passes etc. Perhaps, when there is not one to get you the ball you have difficulty keeping possession and making your own plays out of nothing. Maybe your team players are as good or even better than you. The most important thing is to be honest where your weaknesses lie and do something about it. No point lying to your self and seeking group hugs and validation from others, because at the end of the day that does not make a great player/athlete. Get over it and find out from your coach what the real problem is. If he cannot diagnose it and just says you are the best (kinda like parents would blindly say to their own child), get someone else to tell it to you straight - get a 2nd opinion preferably from someone with a trained eye. Failing that, how's this - ask one of your team mates why you suck (individually though, otherwise you are asking for a mass hating contest). This may sound harsh and be something you don't want to hear, but it is IMO the best thing someone can say to you.

Re: intimidation
i had the same problems when i was a rookie in my high school basketball team. Just try to improve and when playing you must try not to think of what your teammates are saying or spitting on you and just play with your best. If they don't pass the ball when your open, then that is there problem let your coach find about that and he'll do the rest and teach your team8s a lesson.

He doesn't seem to be talking about normal games - I dunno at first it seems that he was but he then admitted to wording his original post wrong.
But seriously, I think that the problem may be with maintaining possession and creating his own chances off the dribble. I recall a post not too long ago, where he was having trouble keeping control when doing a normal crossover. That's bread and butter stuff.

Re: intimidation
That's exactly what I am going through now. I have the best handles, I play the best without the ball, I shoot pretty well.
But whenever I step on the court with them, my game just sucks. I will have a total meltdown and make silly turnovers.
I think it is a kind of psychological barrier that we have to overcome.

Re: intimidation
I understand what psychological barriers and lack of confidence can do. But seriously, 9 times of of 10 you need more practice, better coaching of your craft/skills and not a shrink. When you have made it to the peak of your game, then maybe the psychological has a bigger part to play. The problem with all the great players in sports giving interviews of their ups and downs on the court/field is that we often think we can identify with their problems. Problem shooting? We blame our psyche and think wtf is happening when we shoot say 70% from the field. Thing is is that 70% of 10,100, 1000 shots? Who's counting? Often we are not honest with ourselves let alone anyone else - that in itself is a barrier that we create. Don't fall into the trap. Y'all can hate me for saying all this. I don't know any of you, but I'm only saying this because I've seen potentially good athletes ending up not amounting to much because of the wrong mental frame of mind.

Re: intimidation
I'm sorry but if your, so called, team mates are picking on you then that isn't a team. And the coach is crap for letting it happen.
I'd go all out on my players if they started sticking it to someone on their team or another for that matter. You've got to get out of there because a "team" like that aren't going to get you anywhere.
