Default Sore after Day 1 of VJB

Hi, I finished my 1st day of VJB Beginners + Bodyweight the other day and right now, I still feel sore.

VJB said that I should feel refreshed after a workout and not overly exhausted. Well I felt overly exhausted... what do you think I should do???

I would stick with it for 1-2 weeks and see how things go. Get enough rest 8-9 hrs sleep and lots of food. Likely that you won't feel so sore next week.

Hey again, just wanted to say thanks for helping me out all the time .

Um, I did my Day 1 last Tuesday and my second workout will be on Saturday. Do you think I should go through with it, even if I still feel sore? (That'll be hard to do, and I might get injured)

You still have a few days to Saturday. The worst will be over by then as long as you have been disciplined about (a) rest and (b) diet. Make sure you get enough protein in your diet to assist with recovery. Doesn't have to be a protein shake, can be some milk, cheese and nuts (but be careful if you already have a high fatty diet). Try contrast showers (google it: basically hot shower to get the blood flowing; then switch to cold over the body area) to improve circulation and get nutrients to the area of the body. Some very light static stretching will also help with circulation - don't go over the top though.

Some soreness on your 2nd day is fine. If you think it ruins your stability then either postpose for another day or perform with less volume. I cannot give an opinion as to which is more appropriate without seeing your condition on Saturday. But just take it easy, follow what I say and be optimistic about working out on Saturday. You'll likely be fine- your body will adapt.

Wow, you really know your stuff!

I'll try that contrast shower and eat some cheese (I drink milk everyday). I'll update on my condition on Saturday. Thanks again!

Easy dude. It's a shower, not drugs. It can make you feel better immediately after. Don't forget to rest and eat well. Kick ass on Saturday.
