Default Doctor told me I have shin splints!! Now what?...

I had it last year, but it went away over the winter.. I played full court ball at the same outdoor court i developed it from days ago and the pain came back..

I was planning to do the vjb... but now that I have this... I have to take a month's break.. I will plan on doing the strentgh training part of vjb.. but even with a month's rest and advice from therapists and such, i'm still afraid of doing the plyo's..

anyone here deal with shin splints.. or know anyone... share your thoughts

check this out.. Shin Splints Causes, Symptoms, Treatment and Diagnosis on MedicineNet.com

After reading the only exercise i know that is simple is heel raises. No not toe raises or calf raises. Walk on your heels until you feel a good burn. This will strengthen the tibialis anterior a.k.a the shin and should prevent most shin splints

Don't be worried dude. I had that in my early teens. Just means your bones are growing faster than yo body and need to catch up. It'll pass...and as far as the pain, I would slow down on the basketball side of things...When I had it, I kept playing...Even tho my Doctor told me to slow things down lol. I'm good now tho, it'll pass eventually, don't trip.
