During the offseason, so he doesn't have team practices to deal with.
Plus I doubt anyone on here is as experienced as he is to do all that volume.

it's his fucking job.
and i guarentee that kobe doesn't go and lift weights at a stupidly high intensity every one of those six days.

if you had taken the time to actually understand what i had said rather than argue against it you would have realised i was talking specifically about weight training as opposed to training in general.

He does 1 hour weight training every day 6 days a week. I have his schedule saved somewhere on my comp on notepad so ill look for it later(I type random names when i save and i have like a bazillion saved notepad files).

The sucking part was sarcasm obviously.

Yeah your gonna have to work up to it. No one would when their starting to train for the first time would go 6 days a week im just saying its possible but you just have to work up to it after starting small.

Oh yeah J-Mac theres no need to be an ass. Its quite amusing when people get mad over some random guys post on the internet and its the case wayy to often

Cool Re: is training 6 days a week overtrainning

It depends on the amount of sets and reps of your workout and the intensity of it as well. Consider rest periods and eating habits as well.

Don't say stupid things and i won't get wound up will i. the point we have now strayed to is that Kobe is a pro so he can do 6 hours lifting a week for a guy who isn't and is probably still a teenager, i don't know i can't be arsed checking, it isn't appropriate it won't do you any good.

6 days a week training isnt over training if u follow the 3-1 week method. this method is very effective and is used by one of the most successful program in terms of gains, P90X. Basically your body can handle up to 3 weeks of intense training and require 1 week off. during that week u can still do low intensity work outs but the importnat thing to remember is that u must do at least 3 days of stretching on the fourth week.

Also, it depends onwhat u mean by "training." do u mean cardio? or 6 days of weights? or do u mean a combination of both? for cardio, 6 weeks a day is okay and isnt considered over training. for weights, it is. the maximum amount of days for weights is 4 days a week doing a split training methods. meaning u can do upperbody on monday, lower body on tuesday, take a 2 day break. then upperbody on friday, and lower body on saturday. that is the best way to train because it enables your body to get plenty of rest in between workouts. if you are dong a combination of both, which is what you are doing i am guessing, 6 days of training might be a little intense but also could be okay depending on your stamia and age. this is more of a personal question because only you can know whether you are over training or not.

for a combination of cardio (basketball training) and weights. for my school, bball trainign is pretty intense so i suggest u do no cardio whenever you have school practice or training. u should always make sure u have at least 1 day of rest in between weights workouts. cardio and plyometric based exercises you should get at least 2 days. during off seasons u can easily have 6 days trainign a week, which is what i am doing. i will give u a rough look at my schedule: this works very good for me and i take a full week off from weights on my fourth week.

Monday: 30min VJB/1 hour basketball workout
Tuesday: p90X [upperbody workout]
Wednsday: 1 hour basketball workout
Thursday: 30min VJB/1 hour basketball workout
Friday: 1 hour basketball workout
Saturday: P90X [Upperbody workout]/1 hour basketball workout
Sunday:

when i have school trainin for bball i use this format: we have training twice a week after school on mondays and thursdays

Monday: School training/VJB
Tuesday P90X
Wednsday: OFF
Thursday: School training/VJB
Friday: OFF
Saturday: P90X/1 hour basketball workout
Sunday: OFF

During normal bball season i got practice in morning and after school so i do almost no other weight training or its way too much for my body.

Hope this helps
