Well, it's easier to catch and oop and dunk that to jump up and dunk.
Also, its not how many inches, its how much of your hand you get over the rim. My hands are 9 inches from the tip of my middle finger to my wrist.

my hand is 8 and a half inches from the tip of my middle finger to end of my hand and i can get my whole hand over the rim, should i be able to dunk?

If you can palm the ball you should be able to.

its been a while but i remember i read something that said, if u dunk with one hand u need 4-6in and 6-8in with two hands, dont know if anyone else read that

but other ppl are taller than others and some jump higher than others so u cant exactly say how many inches some1 needs.

What are you talking about. It has nothing to do with inches. It's how much of your hand gets over. How are you supposed to dunk if only have your hand gets above the rim. How can you dunk with two hands if you can't get both hands over the rim. People, you over think inches way too much. It's how much you need to get the ball above the rim. Whoever said 4-6 inches means you should dunk is a dumbass. Where do the 4-6 inches start, plus people's hand sizes are going to be different, so you can't base anything off of inches.

around 4 to baby dunk and about 6 to dunk cleanly but i guess it depends on ur hand size. im 5'9 and my hands are about 9 inches so i got pretty big hands lol, it means i can palm it easily but i have to get higher to dunk i think

am just saying thats what i read back in the days, about how many inches over the rim the ball needed to be. but that was way b4 i started reading and researching into vertical leap and dunking.
