Shooting technique
Hi i need some help with my shooting technique. I think i have a good shot and can make majority of the shots i take but i dont have the great technique. I have a good release and a good spin on the ball but my elbow is sticking out when i take a shot? Does anyone has that problem? If yes, how did you correct it?
I also found this that may help some people

you can try the shooting bandit item thing that you can get on jump usa.
the link is http://www.jumpusa.com/bandit.html
and don't really worry about your shot as long as it goes in
like look at acie law. his shot looks horrible but he's pretty good

Re: Shooting technique
If you basically shoot with one hand, get a backspin and jumping at max. Then you're technique probally should be good

I downloaded the Steve Nash ball instruction videos from a torrent website. They are so cool especially for shooting, passing and dribbling. Go download them.

Re: Shooting technique
if you're elbow sticks out then i'm assuming you're not shooting with your arm bent at 90 degrees. if you fix that up it should help quite a bit. dont worry if your shot goes off for a week or so, once you get used to it, it'll improve to something better than before =]

Re: Shooting technique
as long as the shot goes in why would you want to change your shot?
if it aint broke, dont fix it.
but if you seriously want to change your shot and think it can improve, just practice shooting the "proper" way, watch some pros that u'd like to copy, but just dont copy fading away and shooting off- balance. have ur shoulders square to the rim and jump straight up, release at the top of your jump( or slightly b4) and just keep your eyes on the goal.
good luck man peeeeace.

Re: Shooting technique
Yeah i know he most important thing is that it goes in but the wayyou shoot counts for alot too. im pretty sure none of you would shoot the way shawn marion shoots even if it was an effective way. Am i right? And also when you tell me to simply pactice shooting the proper way, i would do that without a problem but how can i know if i shoot the proper way? When i shoot i feel like i shoot the proper way but people tell me my elbow is sticking out. I cant correct it that easily. If anyone has the video of better basketball better shooting with ray allen on it, i would love it if you could send it to me

Re: Shooting technique
I don't want to start a new thread to post a question.
I have a pretty accurate shot from three point land, more or less 50% or higher, meaning it was more likely to go in if I were open to take the shot.
The problem is since I injured my hand last year, I have not been able to get back to the mark again. Well, I got my shooting back but not as consistent like I was before. I've become more of a streak shooter so my teammates feed me the ball when I'm hot and I defer taking it when I know I'm on a slump.
Anyways, can anybody help me out by giving tips on how to get my consistency back? Thanks.
