Default I Need Help!

alright i need to get my hops back. Actually get more then what i had. Sadly when i could jump it wasnt even that high. I mean i could easily grab rim with one hand but thats about it. Now i cant even touch rim and ill tell you why. About 2 years ago i started having bad knees problems in both legs and it came out to be knee tendonitis. I had severe tendoitis because at time i wouldnt even be able to walk. Well after going to the doctor they told me to stop playing ball for atleast 3-4 months or i would cause permanent damage to both my knees that would stop me from playing basketball for the rest of my life. So of course i stopped playing which meant no exercise for my legs at all and meaning i would lose the hops i had.

Now what i ask is what can i do to get some hops back in my legs. I mean i would like to dunk one day but im not asking that all right now. Id like to be able to jump again and easily grab rim. What can i do in the gym or at home to really help me out? Thanks.

Not sure what caused it but i had noticed it for a few months and it would cause pain but not too much and i would continue playing with it. About 3 months after that it got so bad that i couldnt even play. Doctor told me it was playing too much basketball and at that time i was playing 5 times a week and about 4 hours each day.

no do not do the leg press or leg extentions for vertical they are pretty useless. you are going to have to learn squats or deadlifts.

Baron, no one starts off liking squats. They are heavy, tiring, and uncomfortable. but u need to learn to love them unless ur naturally gifted. but since u are here... that's not you.

There not worthless at all but squats are better, the vjb or some other program even says to do leg presses if you cant squat.

yea they are worthless for sports enhancement. they have no carryover to jumping because when are you ever sitting down when jumping. honestly there not even good muscle building exercises they suck.

Kelly Badget says you can use it as a substitute for the squat if for some reason you cant do squats. Yes he says squats are way better but the leg press is not wortless cuse there is a correlation between your max squat and max leg press. Its on page 50 of the vjb if you want to look.
