Probably cause you use your abs for leaping into the air too. Contracting and expanding.

they help for about 2 to 5 inches because some ab exercises work the hip flexors and the lower back. all parts of the posterior chain. i would do some ab work too.

The way I understand it, both plyos and strength training help in vert, and plyometric strength helps activate muscular strength. If this is true (I may be wrong about this), then wouldn't it be good to get more mass (more potential strength) just so you can better utilize by using plyos?

building mass is counter productive to training vertical. always train your legs for strength. when you train for strngth you do not a gain a lot of mass. what you are thinking of is bodybuilders.

When doing Strenght training and Plyos on the same day, should I start with plyos and then strenght or the other way around?
