I disagree with you the vjb contains some light and effective programs fo' begginers. Like their begginer plyometric program, and the other one which is a bit harder but kelly ( the author of this book) recommends fo' guys who dont have strength but they have a bit experience in plyos for example they did the begginer one.
Contrary, the intermidiate plyos are recommended for guys who squat 1,5x of their bodyweight. But i know guys(4 or 5) who did not have so much strength and they gained around 6+ and one of them he gained 5 in week 5( i can prove it).
Sometimes plyometric is a good way of training for every athlete and as kelly says if havent gain 2-3+ in the end of third week from a plyometric program you should start a strength program because it detects your weakness.
to sum up, plyometric is a miraculous , thaumaturgic and the most popular training for sprinters and jumpers.
