Default How to run up

Yo!

I have a standing vert of 30 inches but my run up is lower or the same. Run ups should beat your standing by 5 inches, why is my run up similar to my standing jump?

First thing i think of it your runing jump technique must be wrong..... or your muscles haved developed a memory.....even though ur have this great vert you havent balanced trained ur muscles for running speed. They have just goten used to jumping staight up. Then again maybe u have trained jumping up and forwards im just guessing from what uve said.

hope that helps

That reminds me, my jump program is about jump up and down and not running and jumping. I should also train my run and jump.

Thanks

Running jump=plyometric ability
Standing jump="power strength" (more slow twitch muscle fibers usually)

Yes, If you standing vert is >= to your running vert it's probally an indication that you need to do some plyos. Send me a PM and I will help you come up with a program.
