Default Basketball Or Future

This is my first time on hoopsvibe and I know its long but I have an important question that I need help with. Its finally summer, and I can finally practice my basketball, but I have to start thinking about college too because I’m going to be a senior. I was lucky enough to land on a summer internship program for some money. Internships also look good on college applications. The bad thing, though, is that the internship will take around 4 hours everyday from Monday to Friday, which is 20 hours total every week that I wont be able to play basketball anymore. I’m not sure about the work shift, but after thinking about it, I thought that it wasn’t that bad because I can still play in the morning and afternoons. However, I was also thinking about taking a college class for the summer because I was going to take a language class so that I wouldn’t need it for school next year and so that I won’t need to take that class in college. It also looks good on college applications, but the bad thing is that the class if from 4 to 7 pm. That’s 3 hours everyday from Monday to Friday. If I do both the internship and summer school, then I won’t have any time at all for basketball. I love basketball and I’m finally starting to get a little better each day, but I can’t decide what to stick with: basketball or future. I want to play basketball, but the internship and summer school course would look really good on my college application, seeing as how I don't have a lot of things on it now. What should I do?

How talented are you and how hardworking are you in terms of basketball. Do you think you can work hard enough to go pro? If not you probably should go for studies, because they are more predictable and stable.

I'm not on the basketball team. I'm not even good at basketball. But I want to play because I love basketball and because I want to get better. Basketball to me is like a positive drug. When I play basketball, all I think about is basketball. I don't think about the next big test coming up, I think about the next big play I make. I don't think about personal problems, I think about personal weaknesses on the court. Its like I forget everything else when I play basketball and all I think about is playing basketball. Thats why I love basketball and why I play basketball. Its like my escape.

Anyway, the language class that I was going to take was Cantonese 3. I heard that you need a language class in college, and taking it now would mean that I wouldn't have to take it when I'm in college, so I would be saving money. And I'm pretty sure an internship and a college level class would look better to colleges than a whole summer of basketball. I really love basketball, but its so hard to choose. But now, I'm thinking about just doing the internship and taking the class in the regular school year, even though it won't be a college level course. I don't know...
