Default Home court and away court advantage

I was watching NBA finals game 3 today and saw a footage of Kobe's interview at the beginning. He said sth like they(Celtics) were playing home court so they've won and it's nothing special and we're(Lakers) going to do the same.

Sounds like home court and away court has some effect.

I can think of the effect being the pressure on the away players given by the audience who apparently support home team, they shout defense when home team is on defense which could give pressure on 'em, and when the away team scores the announcer announces his name with a tone like they don't like him scoring which kinda beats down the guy mentally.

Do any of u know is any of these are true and/or know some other effect(s)?

teams usually play better at home because they play half a season at their homecourt and they practice there.. so they will be used to the atmosphere unlike the other teams.. and what you said about the crowd is true, if the crowd are cheering for the home team its gunna get them hyped up and wanting to score more.

Think of it like this if you and your friends challenged a group of guys to a basketball game and it was being played in your backyard who would have the better advantage you or your them you because you practice at that goal every day

it does have some affect. it shows on the NBA site when they put up all the scores of the days games during the season. the amount of winners that are in the right hand column compared to the left is proof enough that it does have some effect.
having said that though the atmosphere at basketball games is crap
