Default Should I play up?

About a month ago, the grade 9's were having a tournament and there coach asked me if I wanted to play for them so I said sure. So we went there and I started and played the whole game every game. The coach liked how I played so he told me next year he would save me a spot on the team even though I'm grade 9 next year and there all grade 10's. The thing is I think if I play up I might not play as well because of the competition, but on the positive side playing at a higher level might help me become a better player. Anyways does anyone think I should play up or stay at my level?

Well i cant say from personal experience but a few of my freinds have told me that if i wanted to play i should play under 18's instead of under 16s bcoz im still 15 but most my freinds are 16 (in the same grade). Yeah they did say that playing at a higher lvl is harder but makes you a much better and experienced player because the only way to get good by playing it to play agasint higher competition.

For example say u are playing your own age but its easy for you and you're always dominating, you wont really get better but when playing agaisnt better competition overtime your game gets adjusted and you start playing at a better level and it doesnt seem as hard anymore. But yeah again this isnt from my experience but my freinds, but since several of them say it i think its the right advice.

i would play up but make sure you get the ball and touches here and there. If the older guys dont pass to you, then you have shouyld stay at ur own lvl.

Yeah true if the people on the older team are way better than you, stay on your level because you wont improve much by sitting on the bench. if you feel like your good and could get playing time, then do it because next year you will have experience and you will know how to play when you will be in grade 10

I really appreciate the comments guys. And yeah I get a lot of playing time since I'm there PG and it looks like I'll probably be a starter for the grade 10s next year

i played up a year every year in high school. its definitely worth doing because you are forced to look at the way you play your game because they are bigger and stronger than you usually. you'll get so much experience from it and you will find it easier to play against people your age if you play against stronger opponents regularly.

Yeah man. See how others play and try to learn their moves. Always go for the challenge.
