I actually have the same problem as u. I have a few people that do it to me on the same court and they even have the most annoying ranking by me from #1 - 3.

But like the person above, after I've played better, like improved to the extent I was like kinda mvp of the game- top scorer and made the team win then he almost stopped doing so completely, not stopped completely.

Red face Re: Annoying teamates

It was like one time I was guarding a post player and my defense in the post is 67 out of 100 because I am a PG so the guy that I was guarding had a good fade away shot but he only did it 3 times to me he took 8 shots after the time I just locked him down. but my teamate got mad at me because I was close to the guy who had the ball and I lunged at him so I could get him to drive to the hole and and my other teamate could either steal or block his shot he got at me because I did that telling me to stay on my man and I was close to him at the time. So basically they tried to make feel as if their mistakes was my fault.

i don't mean to get at you or anything but if you were palying man to man d then it was your fault if he got by you. i mean yeah someone else should have stepped in to help as would happen with any good d but ultimately in man 2 man if your man scores it is your fault.

anyway that is besides the point. i wouldn't go out there with the intent to challenge him or call him out. like you said in the thread title he is a teamate. causing conflict in a team is never going to help and never going to make you anymore popular with them. Just ignore what he has to say and dont let it affect you. There will always be people that think they can do it better and chances are there will always be people that can do it better. Just focus on what you think and what your coach thinks. the only player if any that should really be critical is your captain and if he is good he will do it in an inspiring way not one to put you down.

dont let it get on top of you, once this guy realises you care very little what he thinks of your game and just start focussing on how to make yourself better you will become much better for it and problem solved.

I think I kinda made a mistake when I was typing the other reply the player that my man was guarding reacts to defensive jabs I never left my man my teamate thought that I was going to double team him.

Sometimes, guys are telling you about your mistakes, because you made a mistake, it just comes out wrong in games.

I play with high school kids on the weekends, we (the older guys) get on them when they make dumb mistakes, we try to do it in a way that is not to harsh, but when the game is close or competitive, words can come out wrong.

We try to teach them while we play, its not easy. Young people do not take critisizm well, trust me, I can remember when I was a teen and the older guys told me stuff, I always took it as an insult until an older college dude took me to the side.

Coming from this dude, I could accept the critisizm, he was older than me and was a really great player, it helped that he didnt talk down to me.

Not trying to preach to you, I am just saying....
