Default Earl 'The Goat' Manigault? (Vert Jump Question)

Yo, I've been doing some research and I saw he could touch the top of the backboard and do double-dunks, now I know he used ankle weights but is there any way I could achieve this and what would I have to do?

(Stupid question, I know)

Nah man. sorry but you cant. He was naturally gifted and with some exercices he improved his vert even more. If your not naturally gifted your body has a limit that it cant pass. Alot of athlets that train hard on their jump never get to that level. If it was actually possible, trust me more people in the NBA would have done it. For example Lebron, i dont think he can jump higher than he is jumping right now cuz his vert is at his limit.

He's still got a phat vert.

How far would ankle weights get me, with casual excersizes like playing ball and walking and stuff and jumping and no specific programs (pylos ect)

Not to be disrespectful or anything, but look around the sticky's and see what's the controversy about doing jump programs, ankle weights etc. Then you would know. Anything that works any muscle in your body improves vertical jump. If you don't want to do programs, just do some of the excersises in the jump programs and do them.

Haha dude he is 6"0 there is no way he could touch the backboard. And what is a double dunk? And the actor who played him wore ankle weights in the movie, but i doubt he wore them in real life.

Uhm, I think touching the backboard isn't that hard.

I think what made the Goat legendary was he get the change ON TOP OF THE BACKBOARD. He made money making bets that he can reach the money on top of the board.

In any case, he was a genetic freak, who messed up and thus was not able to live up to his potential.

Lebron, with all of the training equipment he has, can probably still increase on it but probably minimally. Furthermore, I think he is also trying to improve other aspects of his game (i.e. shooting - free throw, three ball, mid-range), which is more important since he already has a sick vert.

I don't think anyone on this forum can/or will ever get coins off the top of the backboard xD. Some people have 50 inch verts because of pure hard work and perserverence, while some don't try that hard and have 50 inch verts because of genetics. It varies for all.

Honestly it sounds like a myth but he did have hops. He was naturally gifted though.
