Default Finger roll

I was just wondering how many of you have mastered the finger roll. If anyone who mastered it can you please record a close up video of your own self doing the finger roll? I don't really understand it even with all the instructions on the net.

Lols. Every time I try the finger roll I will end up shooting it from my stomach.

juts extend your arm out towards the rim and giv it a soft flick with your fingers... only attempt them if you can get your hand within a few inches of the net tho... there sure to go in that way otherwise it might bounce off the back of the rim.

Here is a small clip of the man with the best finger roll ever, George Gervin. Look for some other vids of him. He would be the only person to model a finger roll after.

You need a decent smooth jump but also some forward momentum. Just jump up and extend with the ball in you hand - you hand will probably be around face level or slightly above. You basically have the ball cupped. Extend the wrist, let the ball roll onto your fingers and then flex the wrist to roll in up into the air. I'm no expert but I roll the ball up more or less vertically - my forward momentum carries the ball towards the basket.

A simple tip that many people ive seen dont do is that they dont help with their left (right if ure left handed) to bring the ball up, if you only use one hand to get it up you may come short and hit the front of the rim

dont over do it though then it will look weird :P
