Handles
How many of you here actually work on their handles everyday, and for how long? and i was wondering how long should i be doing each drill for?

Re: Handles
At the beginning of the winter i practiced my handles like 1,5 - 2,5 hours and it helped a lot. Before winter i could'nt dribble behind my back and do between the legs without looking the ball, but now i can do all drills i know with 1 and 2 balls without looking. I think you should do every drill about 1 or 2 minutes.

I don't really need to practice them anymore, but when I began (about your age) I spent at least and hour a day. When I would ball, I would stay and practice for 1- 2 hours. Don't just practice dribbling though, practice passing too. I used to pick a spot on a wall and pass at it. Left handed, right handed, behing the back, off the dribble, off spin moves, jump passes. Work on your whole game. Another thing to remember, footwork is a major factor in how good/effective your moves are.

i think just dribbling in general will help or just playing the game will make it natural but focus on 2-3 good moves i.e.(dribble between your legs then behind ur back immediately following and spin the oposite way that the ball passed behind your back) that you can make great (we call that your niche) and you can take anyone...sorry if a lil' confusing

Re: Handles
just go with the flow i mean if you work on ur handles just do drills with 2 balls itll help. i find it hard though ...

Re: Handles
I used to do some dribbling drills, but not very consistently. I will dribble at home for about 30 minutes everyday, just freestyling. Got great handles now, can drive with two hands, dribble equally well with my left and right hands.
By the way I am a lefty but my better hand at sports is my right hand. So I started using right hand but eventually trained my left hand too.

what's the name of that speed program? I'm pretty slow dribbler so ..
Btw doing ballhandling drills are pretty useless, because i doesn't help a lot in games, you have to practice crossovers. just my opinion.
