That sounds right. The problem was that once people were cuttin and not getting the ball, they stopped cutting. I mean, we lost by only 5 points, we should have KILLED these guys. Thanks for the input. I appreciate it.

For a zone defense the main thing is penetration and passing.. And obviously shooting

Against a zone, below the rim play is difficult, so you gotta have shooters, and you said someone can shoot the 3, that's the best.. Nothing better to wreck a zone than 3 point shooting. They'll be forced to come out of their zone to guard the guys on the perimeter

If one guy drives into the zone somebody from another zone will come to help. That messes up the zone quite nicely now, so then all you gotta do is pass the ball around till one guy is free.

And screens, nothing works better on a zone defense than screens..
Personally I dislike the zone defense,it's just lazy, I like the man-to-man defense, there you take care of all the problems..

P.S. johndecena, don't post like 5 times in a row man, use the "edit" button

i can set you up a couple of plays pretty easy if you are having real trouble with zone, any formation.

Attack the open spots, just one bounce in there will make the defence move, penetrate dish out and shoot. depends on what kind of zone they're playing too.
