i h8 my coach man
on my team we hav a cherry picker (i did it once and my coach had a skitz at me and sat out 4 da rest of da game) AND the coach NEVER yells at him and a guy dat NEVER passes at ALL.
and coz my natural game is fast paced, dribbling (most) and playmaker i cant do dat coz i neva get da ball coz im new 2 da team.
2 put it simply: im not happy
and how 2 do offence against zone
well id make sum up and since ur lyk a leader tell ur team and ask ur coach wat he thinks
but if u still hav players hoggin it and dat tell ur coach man

Re: To anyone who is on a team, or in a league
do u guys only do lyk 1 type of defense? in the 1st half we play full court man to man, then in the 2nd we will sometimes play a 3/4 press, a half court press, a 2, 3 zone, 3, 2 zone and a rabbit zone, where there are 2 on the blocks, 2 on the elbows and 1 outside 3 chasing the ball.

The type of zone dictates what type of offence you use. if you have a 2-3 you want to get the ball to the shooters and pass alot. but if you have a 3-2 there are only two bigs in and you want to give it to them. or if itss a 1-3-1 or a box and one im not quite sure how to beat those but you should just ask your coach.

Well, I'll tell you, next week, his minutes are getting CUT! My team listens to anything I say. It's just one ball hog. He has 2 freinds on the team, so, first I'm gonna pull him aside, have a one on one chat. If he has a problem with what I have to say, I'll let his boys know what's up. I'm sure they know, everyone could see he was just hogging it, not setting up the offense, and not passing.

But I don't really know much about this. I don't play a leadership role and normally shy away from it. I play 2 guard most of the time. Bizarrely, I am better driving inside than playing the outside game.
Your situation sounds like it sucks though. Hopefully that guy will learn his place.

Yeah, that is the exact offense I was trying to set up. Swing the ball around to the other side to imbalance the zone. But MAN, this ball hog is killing me... I'm never one to not voice my opinion, so we'll see on wednesday. I'm sure he'll hear what I have to say. Now, weather he'll actually do it.... I don't know. If he doesn't, he's gonna be sitting.

They started with a 2-3, switched to a 3-2, then box and 1. In the second half they went man, and this guy wouldn't set up the offense.

Yeah, like I said to someone else, that's what I was trying to do, but this new guy just wasn't listening. I wanted to swing pass around, get bigs shots inside, or drive and skip pass. But this ball hog was just not passing, trying to do it all, he was trying to draw fouls, and the refs only seemed to call fouls against us. I mean, when you see that happening, that's when you stop trying to draw fouls...

Re: To anyone who is on a team, or in a league
alrite the other day my coach wasnt there (in a league, not school) so we had this other coach instead, he knos ALOT and he was teachin us how to break down the zone. its kinda hard to explain but ure players have gotta always bbe in constant movement, especially away from the ball, like he was showin us how the team should try to move the ball on one side (thus movin the whole zone to that side) al while te players are cuttin and makin backdoor cuts, so as long as the ball is movin so iz the zone, which (if u have a good passing pg) should allow u to get easy baskets of players that are "scoring without the ball", itd be easier to show u firsthand, but i cant so just remember that everybodys gotta be movin, u can even give players a certain area or place to cut from and to, so u (the pg) already knos wer ure players are
